Have you ever declared that you want something to be different and then struggled to actually change? Do you notice reactionary patterns in yourself that you wish you could shift?
Maybe you’ve tried a daily phrase, a journaling practice, or bullet journals in order to find grounding or to be present in the moment. Perhaps these habits support you for some time but when the pressures of life accumulates, those supportive tools fly out the door when you most need them. Instead — our habitual ways of being show up again.
It turns out these reactionary, default responses in our bodies keep us stuck as we are trying to move toward the transformation we long for.
Somatics is a path of practice that serves us especially when we are under pressure. Our bodies contain a universe of wisdom and possibility that can be a resource for us to use, or wield, with purpose. We do this through practice where we can build new muscle memory and more agency by exploring our thinking selves, emotional selves, physical body, nervous system and how we are with one another relationally.
What would it be like to be able to be responsive instead of reactionary? To feel more possibility and choice as we move toward change? How might it feel to show up in alignment with how or who you want to be in relationships, at work, in creativity, in life?
Somatics offers the opportunity to witness our default embodied patterns and how we subconsciously move through the world and then practice something different that brings our words and our actions into more alignment with what we care about, our values and our longings.
We hold that our histories live inside our bodies; we are shaped by the world around us.
We are offering an 8-week somatic coaching group, where you can practice tapping into the wisdom of your body to support the change you are longing for.
What We Will Do Together
Find more clarity and deeper connection to your longings and what you care about
Learn practices you can carry with you into your life that include breath, movement and awareness of sensation
Increase awareness of embodiment: your emotions, sensations and behaviors
Develop community for the sake of creating more belonging together
Build alignment between our longings and our actions
Understand what has shaped our default ways of being, reactions, and beliefs
Engage in individual, partnered, and group practices
begin to shift the default patterns in your body that keep you stuck
